Safety measures for drivers during the COVID-19 Outbreak

Businesses worldwide have shut down or slowed down operations to help stop and slow down the COVID-19 disease, and health officials and government have urged citizens to stop all non-essential domestic and international travel. The health and safety of our partners is our utmost priority and they each contribute to essential services every day. Therefore, to ensure that our clients protect themselves while driving. Below are a few safety measures to adopt while riding:

    1. Pack Essential items

Please ensure you pack disposable gloves, hand sanitizer, tissues, a bottle of water, medications (when necessary). Drivers should ensure that:

      • Wear face masks, and sanitize when they are in and out of their cars. They should also ensure they dispose of any used tissues properly.
      • Pay using M-Pesa or debit cards other than cash
      • Maintain social distance and ensure that passengers sanitize and wear masks.
    1. Plan your route

Preparation is key. The route you are using may look familiar because you have driven more than a thousand times. However, chances are you may run into temporary road closures or checkpoints. Since there are restrictions on travel out of Nairobi and other affected towns, it is best to get all necessary documentation to enable you to move out of the city and make it in time before the stated curfew.

It is important to follow updates on COVID-19 from reliable sources (Ministry of Health and WHO sites). Should you have any questions, please contact health officials on prevention techniques to best protect yourself in case of exposure.
